Praying For Our Nation

It's been a whole week since I last posted. With the Presidential Inauguration happening a week ago, I've spent the better part of the week being really discouraged by bills being passed or reversed. I've used this past week to pray for our country - a county forgotten to be founded on a belief in God. While I realize many people are proud of our new President, please respect these are my thoughts and beliefs.

One thing I've focused a lot on is that God has plans for our life - plans much better than our own. My life is an extreme testament of this. It's all the reminder I need of that statement. While I may not like what is going on in our country right now, I live on God's promises and an understanding of a power beyond what the President can do. While I completely disagree with President Obama's ways of making the county "a better place", John F. Kennedy once said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country." There's never a better time in our country to be a soldier of God than now.

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours."
-John 15:18-20

"And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."
-Mark 16:20
